After reading the Kybalion I was obsessed with the transference of energy. Energy cannot be created or destroyed. We came from stardust and in death out vibrations take us to the astral plane, a place of celestial spheres. This piece is a small section of the visual reflection I had when reading the Kybalion.

Botanical Venus 2019

My favorite painting is the breathtaking ‘Ophelia’ by Sir John Everett Millais. I’ve always had an affiliation to Ophelia- the melancholy beauty of her singing in the water as she slowly drowns. The daughter of water, the flower beneath the foot. I was also inspired by the Victorian ‘anatomical Venus’ that were used for medical anatomical studies. They were so lifelike, made of wax, glass and human hair. There was a wonderful exhibition of this a while ago at the Wellcome collection.
